Campus Center walls go up

Bricks for the exterior of the new Campus Center have been laid.

As part of a massive renovation project, the old Campus Center closed in summer and was torn down in November last year. The project was originally labelled a $6 million effort. In February, it was announced that $7 million was raised for the effort.

The Campus Center construction forced the relocation of the cafeteria, post office, lounge and Daily Grind and closed the 1862 Lounge. An unforeseen asbestos issue also moved the bookstore.

Lakeland promises an August completion, touting more food option and the return of The Pub. Despite The Pub’s return, Lakeland’s partnership with JB’s will continue.
