Holidays at Lakeland

Melissa Kassens, Staff Reporter

The weather is getting cooler and that means full steam ahead to festive events at Lakeland. Lakeland University offers a wide range of holiday offerings that keep with the university’s goal of inclusion through diversity. Students, faculty, and family can celebrate and learn about new celebrations during any one of the events hosted.

Lakeland recently held their 2nd Rainbow Dinner which provided an accepting family-like atmosphere for LGBTQ+ students, staff, and faculty to kickstart the holiday season through connection, which was hosted at Lakeland’s president, Beth Borgen’s home on campus.

Other religious holidays Lakeland celebrates is Rosh Hashanah, Navaratri, Yom Kippur, Mawlid al_Nabi, Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret, Simchat Torah, Diwali, Birth of the Bab, and the Birth of Ba ha’ u’llah, Gurpurab.
