Chuck Stockman, professor of hospitality management, who has been with Lakeland College since 1992, is one of the first to agree to an early retirement package offered to full-time Lakeland College faculty.

David Gallianetti, director of communications, announced the early retirement packages for faculty members on Feb. 18. Those who are eligible must be full-time, reached the age of 59 years and have taught at Lakeland College for at least 10 years. Faculty members are not required to take the offer. Their offer is unrelated to the programs that they serve.

Stockman had worked for almost two decades in the hotel and restaurant industry before coming to Lakeland College. He has taken several groups of students to South Korea’s COEX International, a luxury hotel and many of his students have had national and international internships. In 2009, he was presented with the Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award.

Gallianetti said that any additional announcements concerning faculty retirement will be shared as they occur.
