Be The Match registry sign-up event nears

A donor registry event will be held on April 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in an effort to match patients in need of bone marrow transplants with donors. Hosted by Lakeland College and the nonprofit organization Be The Match, the event is open to students, faculty and staff. All are encouraged to join the national registry and make a difference in someone’s life.

“We’re very excited to give Lakeland students and faculty an opportunity to learn more about Be The Match. Even more so, we are thrilled to be given the ability to save lives through Be The Match,” said Alex Strege, the student coordinator for the event.

Taking place in Bossard Hall, participants only need to fill out a questionnaire and receive a DNA cheek swab to potentially help those with life-threatening illnesses. For more information or questions, contact Gina Covelli at [email protected].
