Lakeland career fair was held on February 29 in the event space. Here students can look around in the event space and explore different careers to their liking. Some of these companies include: Osthoff Resort, Sargento, Blue Harbor and many more. The career fair was held by the Co-Op program run by Megan Hellmer and Britanni Meinnert.

The career fair is a fantastic way for students to explore their options while in school or about to graduate. The career fair strives to help students with exploring different jobs and different interests. Few students know what the future holds for them. With the help of the career fair, students can get an idea of what they want to do in the future as well as have a great resume builder. As Hellmer states, the career fair is great for all students. “Students can network with employers to learn about opportunities for employment, credit-bearing experiences. They are also able to ask employers for information about things like tuition benefits and other perks for college students. Free professional headshots were also available.”

It is important for all students to get all the information and networking at the career fair to stand out and get their foot in the door.  Hellmer said that students should get a lot of information from the career fair.   “Students can get the most out of the career fair by arriving ready to put their best foot forward (dressed professionally, copies of their resume in hand, etc.). It’s helpful if students do some research beforehand by looking at the career fair employer listing in Handshake. If students are ever seeking assistance from our office to prepare for events, they can connect with us by scheduling an appointment through Handshake or emailing [email protected]. For example, we have a free professional clothing closet that students can utilize to prepare for events, interviews, and more.”

Overall, there is a lot that students can gain from attending the career fair and it is a fantastic way for students to present themselves in the working world. Lakeland has a career fair every semester in the Campus Center event space upstairs.
