Sheboygan Visual Artists was founded in 2007 by artists Frank Juarez and Dale Knack. They shared the belief that “art, a universal language, is essential to a vibrant, thriving community.”
The art center focuses on empowering local artists and engaging the public through art exhibitions, workshops, scholarships and community outreach programs. Sheboygan Visual Artists supports artists at all stages of their careers.
The gallery includes features like Kaleidoscope, which is a community outreach program that provides free art workshops for children and adults living in shelters, children participating in Sheboygan County Foster Care, and students at the Sheboygan County Juvenile Detention Center. It also provides scholarships for residents of Sheboygan County who are graduating from a Sheboygan County high school and plan to attend a college or university beginning in Fall 2026.
The gallery is located at 534 S Pier Dr, Sheboygan, WI 53081.
Their mission includes empowering visual artists through professional development and collaboration, creating opportunities for the community to experience and enjoy the visual art and promoting member artists and their work.
From April 24 until May 24, the gallery is holding their “Rhythm and Beats” Exhibit, which was recently judged by a mix of four Lakeland students and graduates.
There are more workshops and exhibits to come.
