Lakeland Unknown: De’Varrious

My senior year of high school, my football team was predicted to be the best class in over 20 years to come to our school and that’s exactly what we were. We had our first positive win record in over 15 years, beat another team in our conference for the first time in 18 years by 48 points, and was the first team to go to state in over 26 years. We were forever carved into history and everybody loved us. It was one of the first times in my life that I felt purposeful, one of the first times I had an impact on the world around me. I was given the All-Conference award and named an All-Area lineman in the Chicago Tribune; Something most people around me dreamed of doing. This entire experience wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for all the hard work and commitment that came in my previous years, but it was all worth it. I guess the moral of this story would be that there is always a bigger and better goal waiting for you at the end, don’t let anything get in the way of that!
