The Mayhem Poets brought their popular spoken word act to Lakeland on Oct. 3.

The show was delivered as a Tuesday morning convocation. The packed audience was receptive to calls for participation and gave a standing ovation at the end.

The Mayhem Poets include Scott Raven, Mason Granger and Mikumari Caiyhe, all of whom met at Rutgers University in New Jersey. They have gone on numerous tours since they formed their group over a decade ago and were featured on “The Today Show” in 2008.
