On Saturday, Nov. 21, four members of the Habitat for Humanity Lakeland College Chapter volunteered at the local Sheboygan Habitat ReStore.

The student volunteers helped prepare the store for the upcoming holidays by setting up Christmas tree displays and stocking the shelves with seasonal merchandise.

Upon completion of the day, the Habitat members took a selfie in front of the aisle of Christmas trees, signifying a job well done.

For these Habitat for Humanity Lakeland College Chapter students, the gift of volunteering has kept on giving.

A few weeks after their service, member Amanda Bagnall-Newman, junior graphic design major, saw a Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) sponsored campaign on Instagram, #Selflessie, and posted the Habitat ReStore selfie.

The #Selflessie campaign aims to spread the cheer of the holiday season, with Toyota donating $50 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, up to $250,000, for every selfie posted.

This holiday season put your winter break to use and volunteer your time to help local organizations. You can additionally post a selfie of your service on Instagram with the hashtag to increase your impact.
