On Oct. 11, the Lakeland University women’s soccer team lost to Concordia University of Wisconsin in a NACC conference set game with a score of 9-0.

The Muskies found themselves down quick in the first period at 3-0 in the first 20 minutes of the game. They put forth a valiant effort in the first period, but ended up finding themselves down 5-0 at halftime.

Going into the second half, Lakeland looked to turn things around. In a span of six minutes,  freshman criminal justice major Grace Daehling made three saves to avoid Concordia University from expanding their lead. However, two minutes later, Concordia came up with their own goal to make it 6-0. Multiple substitutions were made in the second half for Lakeland, but the Muskies couldn’t take it away and lost 9-0.

Junior undeclared major Stephanie Figueroa had the lone shot for the Muskies. Daehling had 13 saves out of 22 attempts. This game puts the Muskies at a 3-11 record with a 0-7 conference record. Their next game is on Saturday, Oct. 14, against Rockford University in another conference game at 4:30 p.m.
