Graduation stands as the single most important milestone in college. Although a daunting time for all students, The Mirror has some tips and tricks toward making this milestone a reality.
- Book lodging and travel accommodations.
- Talk to your parents right away so they can book flights and arrange accommodation.
- Plan to have up to 10 guests per graduate. Adults and children are welcome.
- Enjoy the Baccalaureate concert for families on Fri., May 10.
- The theme is “Gratitude for the Journey.” This event will be held for one hour starting at 6 p.m. in the Campus Event Space. Musical offerings will be provided by Chamber Winds and Choir Students. Light refreshments will be provided.
- Dress to impress.
- Wearing a nice blouse and khakis, a dress, a shirt and tie or something you would wear to an interview works best. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
- Plan to arrive an hour early for your ceremony.
- Lakeland will hold three ceremonies on Sat., May 11, 2024. Each ceremony will take place in the Woltzen Gym, located in the Wehr Center.
- Seek medical assistance if needed.
- Medical emergencies will be taken care of by trained professionals on site.
- Enjoy food and fellowship.
- Lakeland’s cafeteria will be providing $12 meals for all in attendance. The Daily Grind will be open from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on the ground floor of the campus center.
- Celebrate your day!
- Flowers and bears will be sold in the Wehr Center from 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.
- Share your success virtually.
- If any of your loved ones are unable to attend the ceremony in person, share the livestream link with them as soon as possible. This livestream will be available on My.Lakeland.edu.
- Capture this moment forever.
