An individual who you may have run into at various campus events but not know personally is Linda Bosman. Bosman is the director of the new Ulrich Center and of donor relations. She’s been with the university since 2012.

Bosman grew up in a small community just south of Madison. In high school, she had a lot of opportunities to go to various programs at UW-Madison. Her decision not to attend the university was unrelated to its large size. To her, it was just “too close to home.” She looked into both UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh and decided on Oshkosh.

As a person who enjoyed both reading and writing, Bosman got her degree in journalism. She joined the school newspaper first starting in layout, then photography and eventually editing. After graduation, Bosman worked for a small newspaper in Oshkosh called the Menominee Zoo before moving to Sheboygan County with her husband who owns a small dairy farm.

After working various jobs, Bosman arrived at Lakeland as the Administrative Coordinator for Advancement. Under that role, she entered gifts the university received into a database, helped generate various lists for events and fundraised for the university through mailings. In 2015, Bosman became the Director of Alumni and Church Relations and Annual Fund. In this position, she worked directly with church communities and alumni. She also planned various events.

On July 1, Bosman became the director of the Ulrich Center and donor relations. Under this new role, she will works alongside religion professor Karl Kuhn. The two of them bring various religion-based programs onto campus through the Ulrich Center for the entire Lakeland community to participate in. They also work with the Ulrich Scholars on campus, who are students with a major or minor in religion.
