Students awoke today to see maintenance work being done on top of Old Main. A new HVAC roof top unit was installed, replacing a unit that dates back to 1994.

“We were replacing the HVAC rooftop unit, which houses a make-up air preheater, air handler and the components for air conditioning,” stated Joe Beinger, interim director of facilities. “The new unit was specified to provide additional heating and cooling during the summer and winter extremes.”

While portable air conditioners were added to every room over the summer, Old Main still faced irregular temperatures. With the new installment, there will be huge improvement to the comfort of the building.
