On Wednesday, Feb. 17, the Student Foundation Board had their second meeting of the semester, which included seven applications that were in need of evaluation. Five students came to the meeting to present their events.

The applications were for the following:

  • PJ party in the 1862 Lounge
  • Gas money for Pi Kappa Gamma Sorority to go to Florida
  • Habitat for Humanity’s Spring break trip
  • Badminton tournament
  • Gamblers Game
  • Laser Tag
  • Bucks Game

All applications were approved by the board and further business was discussed after presentations were given.

Once applicants were approved for the funds they asked for, they were notified via email by the board’s President, Jessica Luecke, before the end of the week.  It is highly stressed that students should continue to check their emails throughout the week after presentations are given so that they know what is happening.

Some students have voiced complaints about how they receive funds from the Student Foundation Board.

Many student organizations believe that once they’ve been approved, they will receive a check from the business office.  Due to the long process of having to cut checks, it is important to note that all funds received from the board are deposited directly into that organization’s account.

All members of an organization who are trying to withdrawal funds from their account should first check in with their advisor to sign off on the request.  Any student that is looking for the request will need to contact Jackie Flesch, manager of the business office and mailroom, and go through Diane Frazier, accounts payable coordinator, for all paperwork needed.

Once the advisor of the student’s organization has signed the paperwork, it’s approved by Flesch, and the organization’s account will be charged for the amount requested.
