Wandering back after a three hour basketball practice, Alex Whitt, freshman business major with an emphasis in business management and a minor in communications, wonders what he will be able to scavenge together for dinner. After his meal, he sits down to do his homework for the day. In between assignments Whitt checks his email to see if he has received any new sales for Glanzair, a company he is vice president and sales manager for.

Whitt states that Glanzair is an “emerging entrepreneur start up focused on providing quality service.”
At the current moment their main product is T-shirts. On the Glanzair website, a prospective customer can create their custom order and then receive a price estimate.
However, they do not want to limit Glanzair to only T-shirts because they would like to expand their repertoire of products. Whitt claims that expanding will take place after they are done with college.

Glanzair began as a secret. Austin Glanzair, CEO and founder of Glanzair and a lifelong friend of Whitt’s, realized that there was a need after the T-shirt printing company he worked for went out of business. For four months Glanzair kept his ideas to himself. Then, when he felt like the idea was much more concrete, Glanzair shared his business plan with Seth Barribeau, vice president and operations director, and Whitt. He emphasized that his last name and the company would be pronounced differently (the company is pronounced GlanzAir).
“I need to give all of the credit to Austin. He did all of this. He shared the idea with Seth and me and we thought it was great,” states Whitt.
With the help of others, Glanzair took more shape. For a birthday present [Austin] Glanzair was given money to have a logo designed. A Christmas present was a license to sell. Glanzair was made official Aug. 2014.
Currently, [Austin] Glanzair is at Lancaster Bible College working towards a degree in business administration and Barribeau is attending North Central University majoring in entrepreneurship.

Although he is part of this company, Whitt states that he definitely feels much more like a college student than a vice president and sales manager of a company. However, he believes that working for and with Glanzair has made him more responsible and respectful.

Whitt has accomplished a lot in his 19 years of life, but he is far from being done. Whitt has a plethora of goals. His top three are to get into an Ivy League school to pursue his masters, he wants to have a positive impact on others and overall wants to enjoy life. He wishes to “live for something bigger.”

Alex attributes all his success to being “very blessed.”
