Psi Chi Inaugural Induction

Danielle Livingston, Executive Editor

Psi Chi, and international honor society for psychology students, has been brought to Lakeland.

Wednesday Apr. 20 was the first ever induction for Lakeland’s chapter of Psi Chi. Because it was the inaugural induction, the chapter itself and the faculty advisor, Anthony Liguori, associate professor of psychology, had to be initiated.

Elizabeth Stroot, professor of psychology, served as the installation officer to induct Liguori and the chapter.

Then, each student was individually initiated. Each student was announced by Liguori, received a certificate and membership card from Stroot, was pinned by Jessica Kalmar, assistant professor of psychology, signed the charter and shook hands with all the professors.

The students initiated in the first ever induction ceremony included: Megan Gomez, Emily Huberty, Rachel Leverenz, Danielle Livingston, Ariel Lochman, Ashleigh Monticello, Grace Vos and Sarah Willihnganz.

Thursday Apr. 21 officers were elected for Psi Chi during the psychology club meeting. Willihnganz was elected president, Livingston was appointed vice president and Lochman was chosen as secretary.

Congratulations to Liguori and these eight women for making history at Lakeland.
