Liz Pritzl, the new hall manager for Krueger Hall, is no stranger to Lakeland College. In May of 2014, she graduated from the school with degrees in non-profit management and psychology.

While a student at Lakeland, she was a resident assistant for three years, worked as an ambassador for Lakeland, played soccer, served as captain of the soccer team for three years and worked off-campus. After being away from Lakeland for a semester, Pritzl is back.

“I feel like one of those people who just never leave their school,” said Pritzl, “but I’m OK with that because I love Lakeland.”

After Amanda Farrar, the previous graduate hall director of Krueger Hall, resigned from her position, Ryan Opahle, assistant director of residence life and area coordinator, emailed Pritzl to see if she would be interested in filling the position due to her experience in residence life.

According to Pritzl, she was shocked to receive this opportunity, but was happy to accept the offer.

“I thought I was going to get more experience in both my degrees by working at the Boys and Girls Club,” said Pritzl. “This veer in different directions was nice though.”

Pritzl still works at the Boys and Girls Club as an extension director of the grant after school program, where she organizes and holds activities for around 70 kids at a local elementary school. This has been a part-time job for her for a year now.

Pritzl is currently filling the void of the position that Farrar resigned from, but she has been contemplating applying for the graduate hall director position in Krueger Hall. If she does apply for the position and is chosen, she would like to further her education.

According to Pritzl, she loves her position as hall manager. Since she was a resident assistant, she has been fond of the atmosphere of residence life.

“We [Pritzl and the Krueger resident assistants] have already bonded over some shared favorite shows,” said Pritzl.

When Pritzl has free time, she is sometimes able to return home, which is only 30 minutes away in Cedar Grove. She also has three older sisters and two nephews (and one on the way).

While at Lakeland, Pritzl uses her free time to socialize on campus, play soccer, draw, spend time outside and walk her husky, Zeke.
