After months of hard work and dedication, the Lakeland Men’s Bowling Team attended
sectionals at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Ill from March 6 through 9. The traveling team includes
Levi Kesler, Ayden Long, Hunter Adams, Rory Stubler, Chase Heling and Tyler Berg.
The bowling team welcomed a new coach at the beginning of this season, Coach Heath
Kohl, who had previously won a college championship event. Kohl has expressed his want to
recruit more bowlers and expand their program so that the team can travel to more competitions,
be provided with better equipment and to boost their morales!
Previously this season, the team attended seven other tournaments around the state. At
UW Oshkosh’s Titan Invitational event, the Lakeland bowling team proudly took second place
against sixteen opposing teams. They also placed within the top five teams at two of the other
tournaments they have attended this year.
Some of the team’s members were also given the opportunity to participate in Individual
Sectionals. These qualifying team members consisted of: Levi Kesler, Ayden Long, Hunter
Adams and Rory Stubler. The four of them competed both with the team as well as individually
during the weekend, showcasing their endurance and dedication to their sport.
The team placed thirteenth at Sectionals out of the 21 teams that attended the event. They
did their best and mentioned that they “enjoy traveling and bowling against other schools” and
they “hope to continue to do so at more events in the near future.”
