The Lakeland women’s volleyball team faced off against the Marian University Sabres for the second time this season in NAC conference play on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
The Muskies finished off the Sabres in just four sets with scores of 25-23, 25-27, 25-22, and 22-21. The victory was crucial, putting Lakeland just a half game behind Marian in the NAC conference standings. The win comes just one week after the Muskies were handed a tough loss by Edgewood College.
The Muskies used a short rotation and saw results from the players that stayed on the court.
Junior Anna Faust led the Muskie onslaught with 18 kills, 14 digs, and four blocks. Senior Taylor Daus also added 12 kills, Junior Katie Freitag added 10, and Junior Amanda Dillman had nine. Junior Brittany Reindl also led the team with 45 assists.
The Muskies had five players in the double digits for digs, including Junior Tess Myklebust leading Lakeland with 17.
Lakeland has its final home match of the season on Friday, Oct. 19 (Senior Night) against Milwaukee School of Engineering. Taylor Daus, the only senior, will be playing her final home game for the Muskies.
