The Lakeland College Women’s Basketball team won their ninth straight game by beating Edgewood College at Edgewood 69-62 on Feb. 15.

With 13 seconds left, Edgewood cut the lead to six, 68-62, by hitting a three point shot. Fouls and missed shots by Edgewood allowed the Muskies to emerge victorious.
“We out rebounded them and valued the basketball,” junior Dana Henrichs said. “We kept it simple.”
The Muskies defense forced 20 turnovers in the game and held Edgewood to 32% shooting in the game.
“We had some big stops at key points in the game,” sophomore Taylor Jandrin said. “That let us get some momentum.”
Henrichs and sophomore Jess Genke led the Muskies in scoring with 19 points each.
“The guards did a good job getting the ball inside,” Genke said. “I just had to be strong, finish shots, and rebound.”
With the win the Muskies improve to 18-6 overall and 13-5 in NAC play. They will play in the NAC challenge game on Feb. 18 at MSOE. Tipoff will be at 2:00 p.m.
