Lakeland university: week of the Bull (where history guides the future to success)

Elijah Santiago, Staff Reporter

Lakeland University has been home to so many people who come from all over the world. Where you can find the dream career and chase it over and over again. Even while finding your life out, you end up finding a family away from home.  Greek life has become an essential part of Lakeland. From the people that create the organization to the people it serves. Greek life can be a very crucial part of the lives of college students and week of the bull at Lakeland does just that.

The Beta Sigma Omega inc. fraternity here at Lakeland has been working to improve the lives of many mewho came to set themselves for a great future. A mission the Betas focuses on is giving the brothers of the fraternity an opportunity to meet fellow alumni who did it There is an entire week where the active brothers of the Betas can pay back to the community that allows them to thrive, grow and learn From fundraising, to hosting events, and community service the brothers show off the standard they pledged to. The week of the bull sets up for a very eventful Saturday. The end of the week is when all the alumni come together for one of the very few times through the year. From the 1960’s to now, alumni find the old love that changed their life forever and give back to the community that help them to that step.

Greek life at Lakeland University has become a place where the more you build into your community the more it rewards you Being a part of Greek life takes so much more than some extra time in your schedule. It takes rebuilding the selfishness of humanity and learning to be selfless. Becoming a servant to your brothers , yourself and peers. The idea of being Greek is only for some and that list grows smaller when people understand the silver lining The time, emotion., and commitment you have to give will never be limited. The love you grow for strangers that turn into family is unimaginable.
