Commuter Club comes together

Peter Ludolph, Staff Reporter

For those who may not know, Lakeland College has a Commuter Club. The group meets on the first Tuesday of the month in the 1862 Lounge from 11:30 a.m. till 12:15 p.m. Currently, it is being led by Success and Engagement Coaches Lisa Stephan and Whitney Diedrich.

At the Jan. 12 meeting, Stephan noted, “There is no formalized leadership at this time,” though when asked later about the likelihood of there being student leaders within the Commuter Club, both Stephan and Diedrich seemed optimistic that there would be a definite possibility after the club’s development had moved along.

The club is open to all students and is a good place to get information on activities going on around campus. The group is still in the early phases of development, however, students who want to be involved or have even a slight interest should attend a club meeting.

There is typically a small lunch served when the meeting is in session, so students need not worry about missing lunch. The dates for future meetings will be Feb. 2, March 1, and April 3.

If you have any questions please contact Stephan or Diedrich, both of whom work in the Student Success and Engagement offices in the Campus Center.
