Brittaney Prosser, hall director of Krueger and director of intramurals, recently decided to start up a monthly newsletter that will be distributed to the girls in Krueger.
“It’s something that the hall directors did at Ripon College (Prosser’s undergraduate school),” Prosser said. “I thought it would be a fun thing to start here.”
The newsletter won’t be long – just a page or two initially – but Prosser said she hopes that it will grow as more of Krueger’s residents become interested in writing for it.
Sophomore Resident Assistant Kelsey Fulmer will be writing a “fun and games” section, which will consist of jokes, crossword puzzles, and other fun activities. There will also be a section called “Blitz’s Corner,” in which Prosser’s dog, Blitz, will write about something of his choosing. “Resident of the Month” will be a column written by either Prosser, Fulmer, or one of the other RAs, and will include why the resident was chosen for this award, what she does to make herself stand out, et cetera.
Starting up a monthly newsletter isn’t a hard thing to do, according to Prosser. “I just use Microsoft Publisher,” she said. “It doesn’t take that long to do, and is really simple.”
If any of the other hall directors are interested in starting up a monthly newsletter, Prosser said that she would encourage them to gauge the amount of interest in the hall, as well as get a sense of the personality types and what the students would be interested in having in the newsletter.
