Q. What movie ending really frustrated you? And how would you change it?
A. . I would have to say the movie ending that frustrated me most would be “Gone Girl.” Seriously, who tries to frame their husband for murder and then he takes her back at the end?

Q. What three things do you think about most each day? Why?
A. The three things I think of the most are my future, family and each step I need to take in order to become better than I was yesterday

Q. If you had a warning label, what would it say?
A. My warning label would be “educated black woman” because a lot of people think just because of the city I’m from, there’s no way I can be as intelligent as I am.

Q. Have you ever been to a live concert?
A. I’ve never been to a concert before that wasn’t gospel. They usually make me feel like I need to stay positive and keep close to God.

Q. What song would you say best sums you up? Why?
A. “I am not my hair” by India Arie because I believe all women should be confident in their skin. Plus, I love my ‘fro. It’s a part of who I am.

Q. Do you have total control in your dreams? How does it feel?
A. This is a tricky question. There are key things that usually pop out in my dreams that make me realize, “Okay, Shay, you’re dreaming.” Only then do I control them. It feels great to feel in control of something that many people struggle with.
