Niederjohn receives state award

Scott Niederjohn, associate professor of business administration, is being honored, along with his associates, with the 2014 Wisconsin Financial Literacy Award. His team was one of the 17 individuals, businesses and organizations selected to receive this award from the 38 nominations that were submitted.

Niederjohn serves on the board of directors for the organization, Business and Economics Academy of Milwaukee (BEAM). BEAM is the only charter school in the Milwaukee area for kindergarten through eighth grade that teaches and gives students and their parents tools to be financially successful in life.

Niederjohn and his five associates created a 10-day program this past summer called BEAM – The Sky’s The Limit Academy. According to lakeland.edu, “the academy’s goal is to substantially improve the quality and quantity of economic and personal finance education for underserved Milwaukee middle school students.”
