Featuring a new format that will aid in helping create scholarships for nine local high school students, the eighth annual Movers & Shakers Gala will take place on May 16 at 5:30 p.m.

Sponsors for this year’s event include the Frank G. and Frieda K. Brotz Family Foundation, Sargento Foods Inc., Prevea Health, Studio Gear Technology, Zimmermann Printing and Canopies Events with Distinction.

The Gala has previously raised $1.6 million. Among the performers scheduled, Lakeland student Leo Liu will be performing with local blues musicians.
